Dynamic Wrinkles Require A Dynamic Solution
Botox and Dysport treatments
Inevitably, as we age, fine lines and wrinkles creep into existence, often catching us by surprise when we initially notice them in the mirror. Fortunately, there are now a variety of injectable treatments for wrinkles, including neuromodulators that effectively treat and prevent dynamic wrinkles by targeting the muscles that cause them.
Neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport smooth lines and prevent the development of new ones so you can maintain a youthful, crease-free appearance. Chelle Health & MedSpa offers neuromodulator injections with Botox and Dysport in Hurricane, Utah. Our friendly and experienced staff provide each patient with exceptional care, expert treatment application, and beautiful results.
What Are Neuromodulators, And How Do They Work?
Neuromodulators, such as Botox and Dysport, chemically alter nerve activity to relax targeted muscles. As a cosmetic treatment, these injectable solutions temporarily and partially paralyze muscles that contribute to dynamic wrinkles or wrinkles that appear as a result of repetitive facial movements.
Frown lines, smile lines, forehead creases, and crow’s feet are common examples of dynamic wrinkles. Upon neuromodulator injection, these solutions inhibit the contraction of muscles that produce facial movements that cause wrinkles. The relaxation of these muscles allows fine lines and wrinkles to fade and prevents the development of new lines. Botox and Dysport are effective as a treatment for existing wrinkles and as a preventative treatment against signs of aging.
Neuromodulator Beauty Benefits
Smooth and prevent wrinkles
Neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport smooth and prevent wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle contractions. Treatment takes only a few minutes and produces results that last for months, offering an excellent return on your time and financial investments. Furthermore, there is no downtime following neuromodulator injections, so your treatment will not interrupt your busy schedule.
You can even schedule your treatment over your lunch break and return to work immediately after your appointment. In addition to these shared benefits, Botox and Dysport offer their own advantages, which may make one of these neuromodulators more suitable than its counterpart for specific concerns.
Botox And Dysport Procedure
Neuromodulator injections take only minutes to perform
Neuromodulator injections take only minutes to perform. When you arrive at Chelle Health & MedSpa for your treatment, you will be warmly welcomed and invited into one of our comfortable and private treatment areas. Your injection specialist will disinfect your skin and may apply a topical numbing cream.
Once the target area is sufficiently numb, the injection process will begin. The number of injections you will need to achieve your desired results will depend on the treatment area and the product used. You will feel a pinch upon each injection, though this sensation is very tolerable for most patients. The entire process typically takes 15 to 30 minutes. As soon as your injections are complete, you will be free to return to your day.
Botox And Dysport Recovery
Dysport and Botox injections require no downtime and involve minimal recovery. While you can return to your daily activities immediately after treatment, there are some measures you can take to maximize your results. Immediately after your treatment, you can perform simple facial exercises to help direct your Botox or Dysport to the targeted areas.
While this measure may seem counterintuitive, contracting the targeted muscles draws the solution to the most active areas, expediting your results and increasing the effectiveness of your treatment. For example, patients who receive either Botox or Dysport for frown lines can repeatedly raise their brown and frown to guide the product where it’s most needed. You can perform this movement in three sets of 40 repetitions, spaced 10 minutes apart for the best results. For four hours after your treatment, you should avoid lying down. For 24-48 hours, you should avoid strenuous exercise, as well as touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area. These simple measures can prevent infection and product dispersion to other areas.
Botox
Botox is the original wrinkle releaser
Botox delivers targeted botulinum toxin to the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, and offering focused treatment. Botox is ideal for treating multiple areas of concern, such as vertical lines around the lips and crow’s feet.
Dysport
Dysport is an excellent treatment for glabellar lines
Dysport is an excellent treatment for glabellar lines and forehead wrinkles. As Dysport is formulated slightly differently than Botox, it spreads farther beneath the skin and is a great alternative in the event that Botox proves to be less effective. This will depend on your areas of concern and your body’s reaction to Botox.
Dysport And Botox Results & Maintenance
What to expect after your treatment
Results from Dysport injections typically appear sooner than the effects of Botox. While Dysport takes only a few days to realize its effects, results from Botox may take a couple of weeks to develop fully.
However, in both cases, facial exercises can dramatically speed up the time for your results to reach their full potential. You can best maintain your results with follow-up treatment and regular skincare. Results from either of these treatments typically last three to four months, though some patients find that they can go up to six months between treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the risks and side effects?
Botox and Dysport are considered safe treatments. However, there are some risks and potential side effects that patients should be aware of before undergoing treatment. The most common side effects occur at the injection sites and include redness, swelling, bruising, itching, or irritation. Other side effects include headache, drooping eyelids, and muscle weakness. Side effects are generally mild and should resolve within a few days. Though rare, botulinum toxin toxicity can occur. You can minimize your risk with treatment from reputable and experienced professionals, like our expert injectors at Chelle Health & MedSpa.
Am I a candidate?
Neuromodulator injections are ideal for adult patients in generally good health who would like to treat or prevent dynamic wrinkles. Patients who have a history of adverse reactions to botulinum toxins or an allergy to milk may not be candidates for treatment. Also, patients who are pregnant or over the age of 65 should not receive neuromodulator injections.
